BLT Sundays
Growing up, Sunday mornings meant Dad was on Breakfast. The smell of sizzling bacon would perfume the house and provide the signal to my Brother and I to wake up. The spread was always waffles, maple syrup and near burnt, crispy as a saltine cracker bacon, the only way dad knew how to make it. If you showed a bit of restraint at breakfast, there were always a couple strips of bacon left over at lunch for one of life’s great rewards, a BLT. I’m no sandwich artist but let me submit that a juicy slice of tomato with crisp lettuce and salty crackling bacon on fresh mayo swiped bread is fairly unbeatable. Comfort food is above all comforting food, most often little rituals we grew up with. So we hope you enjoy this curation and find it comforting, BLT and all.
