Eating, Drinking, RVing

“a bursting plate of country ham, fried eggs and red-eye gravy…”
Last May, a couple friends and I piled into a rental RV and drove a straight line across Tennessee from the Smoky Mountains to Memphis. We set our mouth’s on fire at Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack in Nashville and dug into piles of fried goodness at the Catfish Kitchen in a blip of town named Dickson.
Most significantly, each morning before hitting the road we would stop at a local diner for a bursting plate of country ham, fried eggs and red-eye gravy (pan drippings mixed with black coffee). Flying back to New York, I couldn’t help but think the state, the people, the food just epitomized comfort, so I thought we should share it. Moonshine and all.
